HP announces new solutions for telcos

New Big Data offering is said to help telcos leverage massive amounts of information and deliver new services

HPs Enterprise Services division has brought to market solutions which it says can help telecom operators leverage massive amounts of information and deliver new services to subscribers.

The new HP Big Data and Analytics support telcos ability to transform the data collected from a variety of sources into actionable intelligence, claims the vendor. Further, the solutions are said to provide valuable insight into the subscribers experience and preferences.

According to HP, comprehensive and contextual insight into subscriber needs enables telcos to create new products and targeted marketing offers that are designed to improve subscriber satisfaction and retention rates. Additionally, telcos can use this information to develop new revenue streams and business ventures with content providers and other third parties.

The vendor also claims that using HP Big Data and Analytics telcos can even extract insight into real-time network conditions and enhance network utilization and address traffic congestion situations.

Telcos have a wealth of information about their subscribers, including their preferences, their habits and all of their mobile activities, but they need to be able to use this data to generate new offerings and drive growth, said Marshal Correia, Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Services India.
