There arent any ads on Googles homepage. Yeah, right. Exceptions can be made for Google+, which now has a Doodle.

Click on http://www.google.co.in/ and you will find yourself looking at an amazing Doodle, which is in form of an arrow pointing towards the link to Google+. In fact, you can click anywhere on the arrow and you will be taken straight to Google+. Clearly this is more of an ad than a Doodle. Google is boldly trying to steer its users to try out its social networking site.

This new Doodle indicates that Google+ is now open to public on the Internet. You dont need an invite to enter Google+ any more. The "Hangouts" video-chat feature has also been expanded to allow mobile use and broadcasting. In its official blog, the company said that its Hangouts features will now be available on camera equipped smartphones powered by its own Android software. Support for Apple Inc iOS devices "is coming soon", it added.

"Hangouts should keep pace with how you socialize in the real-world, so today we're launching it on the one device that's always by your side: your mobile phone," senior vice president of engineering Vic Gundotra said on the blog post.

Googles blogpost has not declared how many people have signed up for Google+ so far, but it has confirmed the social network was now open to all. Many independent analysts have estimated that since inception Google+ might have signed up upward of 25 million users. To enhance the scope of its network, Google has made its search engine available from within the social network. Users can search from Google+ and get results not just on the network, but also from the worldwide Internet.
