Apple employees are displaying a remarkable proclivity for loosing unreleased iPhone models in bars.

An Apple employee has done it again. Only few months ago an unreleased iPhone 4 model had been lost in a bar. The device was later purchased by the gadget blog, Gizmodo, for $5000. Now we are having a bizarre repeat of the same incident. This time, an Apple employee seems to have lost the handset at a Jose Valles San Francisco tequila bar, Cava 22 in July. There has been a mad scramble by police and Apple security, but the device is yet to be recovered.

According to CNET, Apple had contacted the San Francisco police, saying the device was priceless and the company was desperate to secure its safe return. Apple had electronically managed to trace the device to a house in the Bernal Heights neighbourhood in San Francisco. The owner of the house gave the permission to search, but nothing turned up. Before leaving the house Apple employees offered the house owner money for the phone, no questions asked.

Jose Valle, who owns the bar with his family, says that neither the police nor Apple security ever contacted him. However, Valle does remember a man calling multiple times about a lost iPhone about a month ago. He says that he told the man he would call him back if he ever found the phone. Perhaps Valle should start making his drinks a little less strong.
