Big data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are the new enterprise favorite, indicates the latest NASSCOM Emerge 50 – 2016 list. It was found that 75% of the most innovative startups or emerging companies specialize in big data (22 companies) and AI (14 companies) technologies. There are over 15 startups offering  cloud services. The startups span across technology areas such as IoT, cloud, enterprise SaaS, mobility, big data/analytics, FinTech, healthtech, NextGen Commerce, AdTech etc.

Big Data has moved up the ladder to become the most favored technology from being ranked second last year. AI, however, is a new entrant – and clearly a new favorite among enterprises -a clear indication of a huge demand for AI technologies in such a short period of time. As many as 75% of top 50 innovators cater  to the B2B segment.

Bengaluru is home to the largest share (about 31%) of the startups.  Other cities where these startups are based include Kolkata, Kochi, Indore and Trivandrum.

“These startups and emerging companies are changing the product landscape by exceeding the limit of software and finding synergy in hardware and other bodies of science,” the report said.
