Senior IT Managers: You Are Worth An Annual CTC of Rs. 41 Lakh Plus!

ITNext’s Compensation and career survey reveals various compensation packages senior IT decision makers would carry as per designations

ITNext’s compensation survey, India’s largest and most definitive survey of compensation of mid-to-senior-level IT managers, analysed how compensation and job title were closely aligned in fixing the annual CTC.

It would not be incorrect say that designation and group classification mattered most in arriving at a compensation model for senior IT decision makers. For accuracy, the survey classified designation into 3 groups —Group A, B and C.

Group A comprised senior IT decision makers designated as Head-IT, GM-IT, VP-IT, Director-IT and CIO. However, a majority of Group A, as part of our survey, constituted Head-IT.

The average compensation of the IT manager has been in the tune of Rs 18 lakhs per annum

Group B participants included titles of DGM-IT, AGM-IT, AVP-IT, Deputy Director-IT and Assistant Director-IT representing varied industry verticals.

Group C comprised Senior Manager-IT, Manager-IT, Deputy Manager-IT and Assistant Manager-IT.

A lot lies in designation

The total compensation of the IT professionals depended on the job title they carried and the category they belonged to. The survey revealed that about 16.5 per cent of the total participants who belonged to the Group A category fetched an annual CTC of Rs 41 lakhs plus.

The largest respondents were from Group C, about 54.6 per cent of who are in the income bracket between Rs 11 lakhs and Rs 20 lakhs.

About 49.2 per cent of the survey respondents from Group B received an annual CTC between Rs 21 lakhs and Rs 30 lakhs.

The average compensation of the IT manager has been in the tune of Rs 18 lakhs per annum.
