In New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) is considering forming a team of cyber world experts to check hi-tech canvassing by political parties during the Bihar Assembly polls to be held from October 21 to November 20.
The experts will keep a tab on the parties indulging in campaigning by short messaging service (SMS) and multimedia messaging service (MMS), EC sources told iGovernment.
During the Lok Sabha polls certain candidates in Kosi belt of the state had used SMS and MMS services to reach the voters even on the polling day.
Though the EC was informed about it but no action could be taken against the candidates for the lack of any mechanism to monitor it, sources said.
