Lemon mobile targets 5% of handset market share

The company also plans to launch range of 3G handsets and data access offerings for enterprises

New Delhi: Lemon Mobile, the newest homegrown handset manufacturer in India is eying to grab 5% of the India handset market share by FY 2012. The company is fairly new in the smart phone segment and have already launched two phones in the enterprise market iQ 707, a full touch phone and iT 717, a qwerty handset. In an exclusive interaction with IT NEXT, the company revealed that it has already started working with its application partners to develop customized applications that can enhance the user experience on the mobile phone.

The company is banking heavily on 3G and plans to launch range of 3G enabled handsets and data access offerings in next few months.

"3G would give a faster connectivity to enterprise intranets/extranets and easier access to enterprise application portals. We plan to launch a series of 3G handsets in the near future and these handsets would support open platforms supporting easier development and deployment of enterprise applications," says Sandeep Mushran, Director, Lemon Mobiles.

Most Lemon Mobiles handsets support Java which is an open platform for development of mobile applications. "These handsets would support open platforms supporting easier development and deployment of enterprise applications," Mushran further added.
