9.9 Media Launches NEXT100

It is the most comprehensive effort to identify the next 100 future CIOs

New Delhi : 9.9 Mediaworx (9.9 Media) has announced the launch of NEXT100 - India's biggest and most comprehensive effort to identify 100 future CIOs (Chief Information Officers). These future CIOs, collectively called the NEXT100, will be recognized and honoured at a special awards ceremony in November this year.

NEXT100 is an initiative of IT Next magazine, which is published by 9.9 Media. IT Next is India's only magazine that caters to the information needs of IT managers across the country and all industry segments.

The NEXT100 contest is open to all IT managers across India who think they have the potential to become CIOs. To make the process simple and transparent, IT Next has set up a website, www.itnext.in/next100, where IT managers can find complete details about NEXT100. IT managers can nominate themselves for the awards. Applicants for the NEXT100 award can also send in their completed forms through mail or courier by downloading and filling in a PDF version of the form that is available on the site.

Vikas Gupta, publisher of IT Next magazine and a Director at 9.9 Media, says, "This is the first time in India that a talent contest for IT managers is taking place on such a huge scale, and with such detailed selection criteria. In addition to qualifications and experience, NEXT100 will judge candidates on their business and decision-making skills, as well as leadership potential. This is a comprehensive and well-rounded effort, rather than a routine talent hunt."

NEXT100 has already created a significant impact in the market. Within 24 hours of the launch of the site, more than 250 IT managers have registered themselves. And by the time deadline for submission of forms July 31, 2010, approaches, more than a thousand IT managers are expected to apply.

Sharing more details about NEXT100, R Giridhar, Group Editor, 9.9 Media, says, "NEXT100 is creating a wave of excitement and anticipation not just among IT managers but also their bosses-the CIOs. As many as 40 CIOs have expressed a desire to be a part of the advisory panel. Many more CIOs are expected to support this unique project." The role of the advisory panel is to provide feedback on the NEXT100 process, and help ensure that the process is fair and objective. To select the NEXT100, a jury of eminent CIOs will be constituted after the application process ends.
