Cloud Upholds Big Data

Hitachi recommends three key components of cloud which can support big data

The Industry opines that cloud can be a valuable model to support an organisations big data
strategy. From a macro view, to holistically manage big data, Hitachi Data Systems proposes
a new model comprising three key components: Infrastructure Cloud, Content Cloud and
Information Cloud that builds on existing IT investments to provide a single virtualisation platform
for all data.
Infrastructure Cloud, the physical infrastructure, which Hitachis (via the Content and
Information Cloud) and third-party applications run on. This includes computers, networking,
storage, and virtual resources with inherent security, and the management software to
orchestrate both physical and virtual resource commissioning, ongoing management, and
decommissioning. This infrastructure facilitates fast, sophisticated Insight and perfectly meets
the requirements of volume and velocity.
Content Cloud a well-managed software and hardware stores and searches both structured
and unstructured content, thus making sense of the variety of big data. Hitachi storage
solutions enable the IT teams to manage all data types in heterogeneous environments.
Information Cloud an advanced engines and tools analyse, visualise and repurpose both
structured and unstructured content with advanced systems management capabilities to extract
the value of big data.
Vivekanand Venugopal, Vice President and General Manager of Hitachi data Systems India
said, While leveraging the three cloud forms, we are also investing in technologies that
would help in leveraging the big data trend.
The thrust areas for Hitachi includes:
Applying decades of expertise in vertical industries to give the organizations the
real-time information, useful analytics and decisions, and automated and integrated
technologies
Integrating infrastructure, content, and information with vertical industry applications
to help the organizations turn the data into valuable business insights
