CA Technologies has announced that Anvil Knitwear is implementing its ecoSoftware solution to help manage its sustainability program worldwide.
We found the ROI capability offered in CA ecoSoftware to be very appealing for our sustainability efforts, said Caterina Conti, executive vice president, Anvil Knitwear. This will enable us to better measure waste, water and energy, and eventually other aspects of our business, such as the amount of yarn used in the manufacturing of our products. The ability to track the use of raw materials and sources of energy will be valuable for our sustainability efforts, as well as our effort to operate more efficiently, maximize material utilization and reduce costs.
Anvil Knitwears mission is to do business in a way that creates a culture of social and environmental mindfulness. To help streamline its sustainability program reporting processes, the company needed a solution that would help to improve the quality and efficiency of data collection concerning energy, water and waste. The timeliness of getting this information also was an important factor, as the company wanted to be able to take faster action on trends or activities that could lead to greater efficiencies and reduced costs for the business.
In order to help meet these goals, Anvil Knitwear required an energy and sustainability solution to automate the gathering of data related to energy, water and waste, and provide that it was being collected consistently across all of their locations. The solution also needed to be user friendly, support multiple languages, and include support for important reporting schemes, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). It also needed to help Anvil Knitwear with its operational reporting on efficiency, annual reporting on their sustainability program, and other reports and analysis offered to their customers and other stakeholders.
With the implementation of CA ecoSoftware, Anvil Knitwear will be able to move beyond manual reporting and spreadsheets, and instead be able to more rapidly analyze information about multiple locations and compare such information to historical data. With this increased efficiency and accuracy, the company will be able to more effectively track the progress of their sustainability program, reduce errors and operational expenses, and improve their ability to communicate major milestones. The company will also be able to provide automated manufacturing assessments based on a specific time period or per unit basis for their customers.
