In Hong Leong Insurance (Asia) Limited (HLIA), a Hong Kong-based insurance provider, has selected SafeNets Data Encryption and Control solution to safeguard its customer data and comply with PCI-DSS requirements.
To meet the PCI-DSS requirement, HLIA chose SafeNets DataSecure, a hardware-based encryption appliance. It offers a unified platform with data encryption and granular access control capabilities that can be applied to databases, applications, mainframe environments, and individual files.
HLIA needs to safeguard customer information details, credit card numbers, and telephone numbers, among other data. Credit card numbers are encrypted under an SQL 2000 environment, and there are numerous applications needed to comply with PCI-DSS standards.
SafeNet ProtectDB, a software application integrated with DataSecure, provides the flexibility to encrypt data at the column level within databases, at the application layer, and during batch-driven data transformation and transaction processes. ProtectDB also helps avoid the risks of privileged-user access by allowing for the separation of administrative duties.
