Now start brushing with USB powered toothbrush

Along with keeping you informed and entertained, technology can also contribute in personal hygiene.

The device that is being billed as the iPod of toothbrushes has now hit the market. This is perhaps the worlds first USB powered toothbrush. Launched by Philips, the DiamondClean HX 9332 can be charged via the USB port found in all computers and laptops.

However, you should not expect a device built on such an original idea to come cheap. The DiamondClean HX 9332 will cost you around $405. You could get an iPhone for the same amount, perhaps a tablet PC too. But the thing is that an iPhone or a Tablet PC cant be used to keep your mouth clean.

The device uses AirFloss technology, and it can reach an incredible 31,000 brush strokes per minute. This is just what anyone needs to remove up to 100 per cent more plaque. Another advantage is that the device has a 30-second interval timer that encourages even brushing and whitens teeth.

The DiamondClean HX 9332 comes with five brushing modes and a two-minute timer. According to Philips it can improve gum health in as little as 14 days.

A survey done in USA by Philips has revealed that 80 percent population suffers from plaque pain. One in two have admitted to not flossing enough. In India the number of people with dental problems could be larger due to popularity of tobacco products.
