In New Delhi: The government has appointed Rakesh Kumar Upadhyay as the chairman and managing director of state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
The Panel, headed by Sam Pitroda, adviser to the Prime Minister on public information infrastructure and innovations chose Upadhyay, the CMD of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd, for the BSNL chiefs post, says the reports.
It was reported that the panel had considered at least three top executives from the private sector for the same post, but they turned down the offer.
