Juniper Networks is rolling out a new networking architecture to simplify the data center infrastructure to increase throughput, and reduce latency, operating costs and the number of devices required for networking. The company is believed to have invested in excess of $100 million in 3 year development of the project.
The objective of the project was to collapse the data center networking infrastructure from the traditional two or three layers to one. This is expected to enable enterprises and midsizes businesses handle the demands created by the onset of cloud computing and the growth of the mobile internet.
"As these trends accelerate, it creates an exponential demand, which requires a new approach," says Kevin Johnson, CEO, Juniper.
