In New Delhi: VIA Technologies, a power efficient x86 processor platforms company and Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd, have launched the new range of Green computing products, including the sub-10K rupee SIMM PC and a wide range of power-efficient VIA pc-1 mainboards integrating VIAs leading-edge energy-saving technologies.
According to the official statement, Simmtronics will assemble the motherboards exclusively in its advanced manufacturing facility in Roorkee, Uttaranchal, India, under the terms of an agreement recently signed by the two companies. In addition to India, Simmtronics will also distribute the products through its channel partners in a total of 15 other countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Dubai, UAE, Turkey, Iraq, Algeria, and Ghana.

SIMM PC
Combining a slim-sized system featuring a VIA C7-D 1.6GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 250 GB HDD with a 15.6 LCD monitor with a 15.6 LCD monitor, the Simmtronics SIMM PC is the ultimate green PC and will be available at a highly affordable sub-10K price point. Other features include the Ubuntu O/S plus a keyboard and optical mouse.
VIA pc-1 Series Mainboards
Simmtronics is offering a wide selection of energy-efficient green motherboards featuring a choice of VIA C7 and VIA Nano processors, including the entry-level PC2000E+ green motherboard and the mainstream PC3000E+ and PC3500N green platforms.
To meet the growing demand for solutions that support DDR3 SDRAM, Simmtronics also plans to introduce the forthcoming VIA VX900E green motherboard later on in the first quarter.
All VIA mainboards offered by Simmtronics come with a three-year warrantee and local RMA support provided through nearly twenty authorized Simmtronics support centres nation-wide.
