Cloud computing gaining ground in Asia-Pacific

A survey conducted by Springboard Research for VMware has revealed cloud adoption has accelerated across seven Asia-Pac

New Delhi: Proportion of Asia Pacific enterprises viewing cloud computing as relevant to their businesses has doubled to 83 per cent over the last 18 months, a survey conducted by Springboard Research has revealed.

The survey sponsored by the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructureVMware said 76 per cent enterprises in India want to virtualise and adopt cloud computing in the next one and a half year.

This is the highest ever percentage as compared to other cloud positive nations like Japan and Australia, the survey said.

In fact India scored higher than both Singapore and Malaysia in current cloud understanding levels, VMware India and SAARC Managing Director T Srinivasan told mediapersons here on Thursday.

The September survey of 6.953 respondents also indicated that cloud adoption has accelerated across seven Asia Pacific markets over the last 18 months, particularly among larger firms.
