Tulip, IBM to build largest data facility

The new datacentre will meet growing customer needs of Tulip across the world

New Delhi: Tulip Telecom, the Enterprise Data Services provider has announced that it has chosen IT major IBM and data centre consultant Schnabel to establish a data centre in Bengaluru, which the company said will be Indias largest and the the worlds third largest data centre

According to the agreement, IBM will be spearheading the design consultancy services for the overall data center as well as lead the execution of the first phase of the data center. It will also be providing a range of other data center technologies like power, cooling, rack layout, chillers, UPS/DG sets among others.

Tulip's second partner, the highly specialised data center planning and engineering consultant, SCHNABEL will assist in doing peer review consulting with Tulip on the data center build.

"Tulip will work to improve efficiency, reduce costs and boost security, thus ensuring that Tulips solutions match the highest quality standards in the enterprise services domain that are available in the world today," says Sanjay Jain, CEO, TULIP Telecom to media.

With the recent acquisition, Tulip's tally of data centers across the country stands at five with a combined space of approximately 10 lakh square feet area.
