Only 46% of Indian decision makers believe digital transformation initiatives impact their organizations

It was also found that 84% of Indian businesses are seeing moderate to significant improvements in their ability to differentiate from their competition through digital transformation

Digital transformation is suddenly gathering steam. For the last few years, we have heard leaders across lines of businesses start their digitization journey. While some of them are piloting new projects on a small level, others are looking at how to digitalize their entire organization. No matter how small the effort, something seems to be working.

According to a recent CA Technologies survey, conducted by Coleman Parkes with 17,770 senior IT and business executives, out of which 78 were from India, it was found that 84% of Indian businesses are seeing moderate to significant improvements in their ability to differentiate from their competition through digital transformation.

Despite leading the business transformation initiatives, only 46% of Indian decision makers, which include Chief Information Officers, Chief Digital Officers, Chief Marketing Officers among others, believe that their digital initiatives have an impact on the industries in which they operate.

According to Sunil Manglore, MD at CA Technologies India, "these digital initiatives are being initiated and led by different lines of businesses and not just IT."

Additionally, the report also states that 90% of organizations are also investing in a leadership team to drive the digital enterprise, and a strong 94% of Indian organizations are also investing in the right talent.

As a result, 55% of Indian businesses, according to the survey, are generating new revenues as a result of the digital transformation effort in their organizations. Moreover, this effort has also had a positive impact on employee productivity for over 56% of businesses.

Clearly, the survey is an indication of the 'digital transformation maturity' of Indian businesses that are launching digital initiatives and using them to accelerate their speed-to-market, shorten their decision-making time, improve customer satisfaction, and drive business growth.
