How to Apply Software-Defined Solutions for DC and Cloud

Intel re-architects core infrastructure to enable end users to leverage services-oriented benefits

Keeping an eye on the IT services increasing demand on the datacenter, Intel India has outlined its strategy to re-architect the core infrastructure, allowing companies and end-users to benefit from an evolving services-oriented, mobile world. The goal is to enable a common software-defined foundation for both datacenters and cloud service providers that span servers, networking, storage and security.

Intels global datacenter business generates revenue of more than $10 billion annually. It develops solutions to address the increasing demand for cloud services and managing data that gets generated from billions of users worldwide.

Aligned to this strategy, Intel has unveiled Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v2 product family. Intel claims that this product family offers up to 45% greater energy efficiency and 50% higher performance than the previous generation. The other products launched are the Intel Atom C2000 processor family, first based on Silvermont micro-architecture.

Intel has deployed this product family at National Stock Exchange. NSEs current application PRISM was being run on the previous version of Xeon servers and optimization & performance testing was carried out on Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v2 product family.

The chip giant is looking to expand into new segments of datacenter in India with the line of current and future products and technologies.
