AVG forms Global Strategic Alliance

The group aims to build new security technologies

Bangalore: AVG Technologies has formed a Global Strategic Alliances (GSA) group.

The group would focus on corporate development and licensing initiatives, as well as strategic partnerships.

According to company, the alliance is intended to increase corporate value and revenue by developing its inbound licensing and strategic partner channels as well as assisting with merger and acquisition objectives.

The group is intended to offer new security technologies which can protect businesses and people from malware, phishing scams, social networking hacks and other online harm, said a press release.

It is also aimed at building strategic relationships with technology, social media, e-commerce and online gaming companies, as well as ISPs and OEMs.

The security landscape is changing every day and AVG is excited to bring our brand of total security protection to the forefront in 2010 through initiatives like the Global Strategic Alliances effort, JR Smith, CEO of AVG said.

The company has already established strategic alliances with companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo, Cisco, Virgin Digital Help, Kaseya, WatchGuard and GFI Software.
