Launches two new Xperia smartphones with texting capabilities that let you share, connect, and express

With consumers demanding infotainment on-the-go, Sony Ericsson is leading the pack to build new texting experiences for smartphones users. Announcing its FingerTALK campaign, the communication entertainment brand is expanding its Xperia range in the Indian market. Packed with better social media integration, smarter features, and access to over 250,000 apps on the Android market, the new portfolio including the Xperia neo V and Xperia pro is a treat for those who love to express through text and comes with special offers for Airtel mobile customers.

While both devices have their own unique features to flaunt, Sony Ericsson has incorporated certain elements across this portfolio. So whether it is the fabulous camera capabilities enabled by the Mobile Bravia engine that enables the best visual experience, or the xLOUD for enhanced sound output and Noise Shield for noise cancellation; the 3D Panorama Sweep that captures breathtaking panoramic images, or the Exmor R for the best photography, even in low-light consumers will love to talk and type on their new Sony Ericsson device.

As part of the go-to-market strategy for this launch, Sony Ericsson has collaborated with Indias largest mobile service operator, Bharti Airtel, to offer customers with 500 MB/month of free 3G/2G data usage for the first three months since the time of purchase of any of these Xperia phones. In addition to this, Airtel mobile customers buying these new Xperia devices will also be able to enjoy free Mobile TV experience for 200 minutes or 2 months, whichever earlier.

Expressing the significance of texting as part of an infotainment-savvy consumers usage, P. Balaji, Managing Director, Sony Ericsson India said, We are delighted to partner with Airtel, Indias number one mobile operator. This has further strengthened our consumer value proposition for the new Xperia mobiles. While Sony Ericsson will bring a powerful 3G experience with Airtel through this integrated offer, Airtel is empowering the new devices to deliver hi-speed communication entertainment options to users, on-the-go. With a price starting at Rs.9000, our multi-tasking smartphones are the most affordable & feature-rich Android smartphones at 1 GHz.

Adding to this, N Rajaram, Chief Marketing Officer Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said As market trends indicate rapid rise in data consumption and increasing penetration of 3G services, todays discerning Indian customer telecom market is looking for devices that deliver the ultimate user experience. We are confident that the new range of Xperia smartphones will deliver a truly promising infotainment experience for our high value customers and are excited to join hands with Sony Ericsson towards delighting them with exciting offers from Airtel.

The communication entertainment brand has also announced its new campaign FingerTALK that will cater to the smartphone wants of young Indian consumers, who prefer texting and chat over voice communications. So whether its about a unique status update, about writing blogs, sending emails or just chatting, Sony Ericsson is bringing more for those who connect through text. After all, some things are better texted! The marketing campaign will be leveraged across channels including ATL and BTL, for consumer and retail outreach by the company.
