IBM eX5 and Storwize V7000 to drive Optimisation through Virtualisation

IBM announced that K Raheja Corp, one of the leading corporations in diverse fields of reality, hospitality and retail has moved to IBMs x86 based eX5 servers and Storwize V7000 storage system to run its mission-critical applications, including SAP and Microsoft Exchange.

This is a significant win for IBM over competition on X Series Servers with Storwize V7000 Storage consolidation for SAP & VMWare. K Raheja Corp. chose IBM System x and Storage because of its platform scalability, price-performance, energy efficiency and its ability to easily manage multiple application workloads.

K Raheja Corp is a success story that spans decades and continues to achieve higher targets relentlessly for quality performance and service in diverse fields of realty business, hospitality sector and retailing outfits. With significant business growth in the horizon, K. Raheja Corp was looking at: revamping its existing data centre infrastructure to eliminate all the Desktop & Tower class servers and use the same for end users purpose -- reducing power & cooling requirements in the data centre; reducing its size (approx. half of the current size); ensuring better connectivity and improving data centre performance and hardware scalability, which in turn reduces hardware procurement cost beyond three years.

Our success story that spans across decades hinges on unmatched quality. Even our own IT infrastructure had to meet our stringent criteria when it came to performance, energy efficiency and scalability IBM's solution did just that. said Rahul Mahajan, Associate Vice President (Information Technology), K Raheja Corp.

Manoj Sharma, Senior Vice President Finance, K Raheja Corp agrees that the availability and performance of the company's IT systems have gone up substantially in the past couple of months, which has greatly enhanced user experience, delivering "faster, much improved response time."

IBM partner Orient Technologies played a lead role in understanding the requirement on virtualisation and consolidation and eventually winning the deal with an unmatched solution.

IBMs continued investments in innovation across its platforms have made us the undisputed leader in the industry today," said Leo Joseph, Vice President, IBM System x products, IBM India/S/A. " Given K. Raheja Corp.'s vision and the growth plans, we believe the IBM eX5 system and V7000 storage are a perfect fit. "We expect the implementation to provide them a clear competitive advantage in the industry."
