In AptiQuant, the self-proclaimed world leader in the field of online psychometric testing, whatever that is, has managed to aggravate many folks who have been using Internet Explorer for all their life. Believe it or not a new research done by AptiQuant seems to indicate that the users of Internet Explorer are much more dumber as compared to Chrome and Firefox users.
So how did AptiQuant come up with such amazing findings? The company offered free online IQ tests to over a 100,000 people and then plotted the average IQ scores based on the browser on which the test was taken. When the results were finally plotted on a graph, it became clear that Internet Explorer users scored lower than average on the IQ tests. Chrome, Firefox and Safari users had just a teeny bit higher than average IQ scores. And users of Camino, Opera and IE with Chrome Frame had exceptionally higher IQ levels.
However, the results should not be a cause for surprise, because browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Opera are generally used by professionals and other assorted "geeks," whereas the good ol Internet Explorer is the default option on Windows computers. Many users of Internet Explorer are those who are relatively inexperienced and those who don't even know there are other options, when it comes to browsers.
The diehard supporters of the Internet Explorer are not taking things lying down. A group of IE users has already threatened AptiQuant with a lawsuit. This group feels that calling the users of IE dumb is an inexcusable crime. The CEO of AptiQuant, Leonard Howard, says that he has been receiving hate mail from IE users since yesterday, when the company first published its findings.
While offering a clarification he says, I just want to make it clear that the report released by my company did not suggest that if you use IE that means you have a low IQ, but what it really says is that if you have a low IQ then there are high chances that you use Internet Explorer.
