If you have been waiting to get hold of the latest MacBook Air, you will have to rest your credit card in your wallet for at least another week. The device was expected to become available from this week, but now Apple has rescheduled the launch date for later part of next week. There are high expectations that Apple will deliver a feature rich and speedier Air.
According to sources, the screen is going to be of higher-pixel-density and there will be an extra USB port and SD card slot.
New generation of processors, graphics cards, and flash-based storage are also being anticipated. Apple is likely to go in for anyone of the three Intels ultra-low-voltage chips, which were just recently: the Core i5-2467M (1.6GHz), i7-2637M (1.7GHz), and i7-2677M (1.8GHz). These chips consume only 17 watts, and that makes them suitable for the slim design of the Mac Book Air.
Apple is also planning to enhance storage in its new 11.6 inch MacBook Air by doing away with the 64 GB SSD. The new model will incorporate 128GB SSDs across the range and arrive with 4GB of memory as standard. The earlier models had come with 2GB RAM and an upgrade to 4GB of memory used to cost users an extra $100.
