To Concentrate on his health

New Delhi: Steve Jobs, CEO, Apple has taken a leave of absence to focus on his health. In the last couple of years, Jobs has faced various health problems. He fought with cancer and then underwent a liver transplant. It is believed that he has taken this leave to recuperate from the after-effects of these medical conditions. In a letter to Apple employees Steve Jobs wrote:

At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health. I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company.

The shares of Apple declined more than 2% after the news of his leave but revived by 1.3% after the company announced 78% increase in profits. This has somewhat silenced the concerns over the continuity of the company after the enigmatic leader.
