LinkedIn launches new app for BlackBerry

It will enable blackberry users to use various LinkedIn functionalities over phone

New Delhi: LinkedIn launched a new application for BlackBerry users. The company informed that the new application will be offered through the company's website as well as over BlackBerry App World.

"With the addition of the application for BlackBerry to our broader suite of mobile applications, LinkedIn is available to more business people than any other professional network in the world," Adam Nash, vice president of search and platform products, LinkedIn said.

The new application enables functionality over BlackBerry such as Search, Messages, Network Updates, Connections, Invitations, Reconnections. The application is free to download and is presently available for users of BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry CurveTM and BlackBerry BoldTM series of smartphones.

"The LinkedIn application leverages the always-on capabilities of the BlackBerry platform to enable easy and timely access to information for mobile users. Deep integration between the LinkedIn app and core communications apps on theBlackBerry smartphone also allows for a very productive and intuitive user experience," Tyler Lessard, vice president, global alliances and developer relations, RIM said.

The company already offers mobile offerings for Apples iPhone and Palm Pre.

The application is free to download and is presently available for users of BlackBerry Tour, BlackBerry CurveTM and BlackBerry BoldTM series of smartphones.
