Wipro bags BA Tobacco deal

The company will provide an enterprise application support delivery model for BA Tobacco

Bangalore: Wipro Technologies has bagged a multi-year outsourcing contract with British American (BA) Tobacco.

Under the contract, Wipro will help BA to improve its effectiveness and efficiency of application support services for the global business operations.

The two companies aim to leverage Wipros global scale and transformational capabilities to achieve step change results in productivity, IT costs and service quality, the joint release informed.

The global capabilities of Wipro match very well with the needs of British American Tobacco as a Global Enterprise. We look forward to a successful and productive relationship, Phil Colman, Chief Information Officer at British American Tobacco said.

We believe this is the right way forward for us in terms of our IT strategy and will help us be considerably more effective across our global enterprise. These changes will help us improve the application support service quality, facilitate better integration, enable enhanced knowledge sharing and, ultimately, help us become more competitive, Ben Fourie, Head of Global IT Services at the company added.

According to Wipro, it will deliver this global program across over 130 countries in which British American Tobacco operates.
