Huawei plans worlds first LTE TDD data card

With data consumption soaring to new levels, there is immense need for high-speed datacards.

By the third quarter of this year, Huawei may become the worlds first company to launch a LTE TDD/UMTS/GSM/CDMA multi-mode data card. According to an official announcement from Huawei, its new datacard, E392, will be commercially available in the third quarter to LTE TDD network operators worldwide.

The Huawei E392 comes in the shape of a USB data card and supports LTE TDD technology. It is compatible with UMTS / GSM / CDMA networks, and automatically switches between different networks to ensure optimal Internet connectivity.

Wu Shimin, President of Mobile Broadband, Huawei Device, has said, The introduction of the Huawei E392 will bring super-fast Internet connectivity to users worldwide and accelerate the global development of the LTE TDD industry. Although LTE will be a mainstream standard in the future development of telecommunications, it will co-exist with the 3G/2G standards for a significant period of time.

The E392 dongle will enable downstream speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s and will support both 3G and 2G connectivity. With such speed the datacard will be able to download a 4GB HD movie in just few minutes. Ultra-speed Internet surfing, high-definition video downloading and online viewing, video transmission and real-time 3D photo navigation will also become possible.
