New Delhi: Google has launched its much awaited smartphone, Nexus One. The announcement was made through the official blog of the company. Touted as a strong competitor to i-Phone, the phone will be initially available to customers of US, Britain, Singapore and Hong Kong.
According to the official blog, the company will sell the first phone through its new Nexus web store.
Manufactured by HTC, the Nexus One claims to feature dynamic noise suppression from Audience, Inc., a large 3.7" OLED display and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset for high speed internet and other functions.
Running on Android 2.1, the newest version of Eclair, the software includes innovations like a voice-enabled keyboard so you can speak into any text field, fun Live Wallpapers, a 3D photo gallery for richer media experiences and lots more.Italso comes with a host of popular Google applications, including Gmail, Google Voice and Maps Navigation, the blog further states.
The phone is expected to hit the Indian market in another few months.
