In Idea did not have 3G spectrum in Delhi and Kolkatta, but the company has managed to launch 3G services in both cities through an intra circle network sharing agreement with Vodafone. All operators will have to enter into such network sharing agreements because not even one company has bagged the 3G spectrum for entire country.
Recently, Vodafone had made Intra Circle Roaming (ICR) arrangement with Idea and Airtel to provide 3G services to its subscribers in Kerala. What is most interesting is that the 3G tariffs being offered by Idea in Delhi turn out to be slightly cheaper than those being offered by Vodafone.
