Abdul Kalam to inaugurate BangaloreIT.biz 2011

More than 10 Indian states will participate in the event to be held from October 18-20, 2011

The fourteenth edition of Bangalore IT.biz scheduled to be held in Bangalore from October 18-20 is poised to present an intense exchange of knowledge, thought leadership and networking. BangaloreIT.biz 2011 with its core theme, India Innovates will offer a platform for knowledge, foster eco-system for Innovation and position Bangalore as the R&D and Innovation HUB and Gateway to India. Former President of India, A.P. J. Abdul Kalam will inaugurate Bangalore IT.biz 2011 while the Prime Minister of Rwanda has given consent to grace the event.

The three-day ICT event will comprise Multi-track conferences, an International Exhibition, a CEO conclave, STPI IT Export Awards, YESSS for Start Ups (Young Entrepreneurs Start ups in Soaring Spirits), National Rural IT Quiz. The event is slated to attract the whos who of the ICT sector like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Intel, Map My India, Texas Instruments, VMC, Microsoft, IBM, HCL, DELL, Cognizant, SAP, Nokia Siemens, Mahindra Satyam, Intuit. There is a strong focus on Start Ups and MSMEs as they are the engine of Innovation. STPI is creating a special pavilion wherein 50 small and medium IT companies from across the country will display their technologies and products. KEONICS & MoU Partners will create a special pavilion showcasing their innovative technologies. FISME pavilion, ISBA pavilion will give impetus to MSME sector.

Bangalore IT.biz 2011 will be attended by 10 leading States of India viz; Bihar, Gujarat, West Bengal, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala. Bihar is the Partner State while Rajasthan is leading sponsor of CEO Conclave.

Meanwhile, the event has been very actively supported by the industrys prominent associations including NASSCOM, MAIT, ISA, CLIK, ABAI, FISME, ITSMA, ELCIA, TiE, ISBA among others. NASSCOM will release a special report at the event on Karnataka - Nurturing Eco-System of Bangalore as an Innovation and R & D Gateway to India.

The three day programme will have focus on Innovative solutions offered by the ICT and hardware industry. This year Conference is driven by Industry Associations, and wide spectrum of topics will consist of AADHAAR : The Next Y2K; Bangalore as an R&D Hub; HR & Skill Development; Animation and Gaming; Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing; IT & Green Technology; Cloud- Whats next?; Innovations in Telecom- Rural Connectivity; MobApps; National GIS & Urban living and MSMEs - the growth engine of ICT sector. YESSS programme will consist of Mentorship, presentations by 10 start ups and meetings with
Investors.

Addressing presspersons here today, M.N. Vidyashankar (IAS), Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT and S&T, DPAR (E-Governance), Government of Karnataka said Bangalore IT.biz 2011 will be an event for everyone in the IT , ITES, Hardware and semiconductor sectors. This years edition will have a more focused approach towards providing a platform for the Innovators be it in products, technologies, this year, We are conducting ESDM workshop along with DIT, Ministry of Communications and government.

Speaking on the occasion, Kris Gopalakrishnan, recently appointed Chairman of Karnataka IT Vision Group said, "Innovation and research are the key drivers to make the government's vision 2020 dream a reality. It is well known fact that hte main sources of sustainable competitive advantage which the city has compared to others are innovative and its IT professionals."
