IT Managers from Oil & Gas are the Highest Paid: IT Next Survey

The ITNext compensation survey indicates that IT Managers from Telecom, Oil & Gas, Consulting services, among others, are the best paid

Did you know that, of a majority of the senior and mid-level IT managers we surveyed, over 51 per cent hail from the manufacturing sector?

This was what was thrown up by ITNext’s survey, which focuses on a deeper analysis of the typical IT managers viewed in the context of the current trend, with the findings   closer to 100 per cent in accuracy. The survey reveals how salaries were structured depending on the vertical that the respondents represented.

The survey finds that IT managers from the Oil & Gas, Telecommunication and Consulting services sectors are the best paid.

From the sample of 500 that ITNext reached, about 23.8 per cent represented IT&ITeS, 11 per cent represented BFSI, 9.6 per cent represented Automobiles and a small percentage hailed from Oil & Gas, among other industry verticals.

The trend that we observed shows that senior IT managers from the Oil & Gas sector were in the income bracket between Rs 21 lakh and Rs 30 lakhs; and about 13.2 per cent of IT managers from the Diversified industries carried an annual CTC between Rs 31 lakhs and Rs 40 lakhs.

Oil and Gas Tops the chart

Another interesting trend that we observed: a majority of over 50 per cent who hailed from the IT &ITeS sector fell in the income bracket of Rs 11 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs.
