TPL 2012 Mumbai Winners: K Raheja Corp

In the second leg of TPL, Team K Raheja Corp wins accolades - and a free trip to Las Vegas

Given the excitement that the recently concluded Delhi leg of the Technology Premier League generated, all the 22 teams from and around Mumbai who came to participate in the corporate IT team challenge at The Retreat in Madh Island were gung-ho. Alas, only one could be the winner!

The participating teams had to solve a business case study and present their solution to an eminent panel of jury members. The panel for Mumbai comprised Jaimin Bhatt, CFO at Kotak Mahindra Bank; Tushar Nimkar, Business Director at Henkel Adhesives Technologies India Pvt Ltd; Devendra Parulekar, Partner at Ernst & Young India; and Kunal Pande, Partner at KPMG India.

The presentations were made in two rounds. In the first round, called the Elevator Pitch, all the 22 contesting teams made quick, short presentations based on which five teams were shortlisted: K Raheja Corp, WNS Global Services, Hamilton Housewares, Globus Stores and ICICI Securities.

Once the finalists were announced, other people could also vote for their favourite team through an online poll. These votes were taken into account and collated along with the scores given to the five teams by the jury members after detailed presentations in the second round.

While K Raheja Corp lifted the trophy, WNS Global was chosen as the first runner up, followed by ICICI Securities as the second runner up.

TPL is the first and largest of its kind event in India in which corporate IT teams in three cities Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore match their wits against each other over two days in a business case study challenge.
